Daniel Langlois

Daniel Langlois is founder of Daniel Langlois Foundation and of Softimage company. Associated with National Film Board of Canada.

He also participated in:

• Transitions, first stereoscopic 3-D computer animation in IMAX format (presented at Expo 86)
• Tony de Peltrie (1985) - the first animated human character to express emotion through facial expressions and body movements, which touched the feelings of the audience

Softimage software [1] was used to create 3-D effects in such films as Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace, The Matrix, Titanic, Men in Black, Twister, Jurassic Park, The Mask and The City of Lost Children.

Softimage software later was bought by Autodesk and became Autodesk Softimage [2]
